Right now we have six nieces and nephews. SIX! It’s hard to keep track and keep up with all those birthdays! For awhile we sort of decided that we’d be the slightly unreliable aunts and uncles, always wanting to acknowledge and honor a birthday, but not always being on time. That way, no one is disappointed. While abroad, it was rare that we were on time and even more rare that a gift would be sent. Too much work, too much money!
Now, with a little one of my own, a bit more time to make and craft, and some inspiration to boot, I’ve been enjoying creating for these little ones, even if it is always a bit late.
Most recently I made a shirt for my now 3! year old niece, Madeleine. A little shirt, sweet, slightly sophisticated, just like she is.
And, I just have to draw your attention to the stitching. I’ve appliqued a lot of shirts recently, but this is the first one where I am truly proud of the stitching. Each little one, even and straight.
I do think I might be getting the hang of this. Now, what to do for Christmas…
